Chairs

I picked up a wooden chair with a broken leg from outside the dumpster. I cloroxed the heck out of it, and then painted it in bright colors, put some ribbon on the seat, and viola! new chair for the baby room or outside on our patio :)

Lyrical Posters

My roommate brought me two posters home from his work. I painted them white and wrote song lyrics on them, all in different colors. cant wait until the next season and i can get my hands on some more!!!!

Cabinets

I hate my white cabinets. And since i took them off of my hutch, i didnt have a need for them. Creativity time! I put decorated construction paper from my awesome spree at michaels, and i decopauged them onto the cabinets. in the middle of two i wrote quotes and the outside of the other two. beautiful art!!!

Wine Wall!

I have a calendar of wine that i bought a while back. the dates are from the wrong year but the pictures are wonderful. going with my italian theme in my kitchen and dining room, i framed the pictures in black frames and lined them three across and four down. easy, cheap, and really beautiful :)

China Hutch - Redo

Remember my china hutch that i painted blue and made all pretty? well, i took all the doors off, added some organizational boxes, and made it even better!

Boxes

Michaels had the most AMAZING SALE EVER this week, and among other things, 5 for $7 memory boxes. So i bought five. and then i bought five more. and then my roommate bought five. :) haha! four of which were plain, white, and boring. I used my painters tape, again :) and taped off perfect lines on the lids of the boxes, and then painted them all different colors. Yellow, Pink, Green, Blue. when they were finished i put them in the top of my dresser, another post, and the pastels worked lovely. :) so if you find old sshoeboxes or photoboxes, dont discard! you can make them beautiful again! i think ill decopauge the last one! :)

Living Room Walls

I hate white walls! and cream walls! anything boring and what everyone else has. So i decided to change it. I put up stripes on my living room wall above the fireplace. I painted every other space white, and then laid on a second coat. I then peeled off the tape and painted brown inside, a cafe mocha type brown. the brown stripes are larger than the white because of the placement of the tape, done on purpose, but one can choose to do them evenly. with all the white in the room i wanted a lot of brown. the is tile on the wall around the fireplace, a full tile and about a 1/4th tile on the outside. there is black metal around the fireplace before the tile, so i painted the tiles black as well. It looks amazing! Next to do on this wall is a mantle i have been working on building, but youll have to wait for the next wall posting to see it!

Chevron Painting

This is for my roommates room, he loves orange, green... bright colors.

I took a canvas and taped off the chevron pattern with painting tape.
This is the pattern: Black, White, Black White Black, Orange, Black, White, Black, White, Black.
The sections not holding tape were painted black, then i removed the tape, painted the middle peice orange, and filled in the rest with white paint.

it turned out amazing!

Chicky Chicky Bang Bang

Awesome!

While at McDonalds with Alex, he ordered a double cheeseburger and a hot n spicy, both a dollar on the dollar menu. :% He took the mcdouble, pulled apart the two patties, and stuck THE ENTIRE Hot n Spicy inside. Placed it all back together and took a big chunk :) it was the best thing i have ever had from mcdonalds. Lots of calories but totally worth it! :) try it!

1 Round Brie
1 Jar Jam
2 Cresent Roll bakes

Layer and bake at 350 until bubbly and dough fully cooked :)

Personalized Wall

Personalized Wall!

Place corkboards in a row dependant on family size. I took frames from the dollar tree and put craft lettering inside them for each persons initials. I painted the frames for eachs favorite color. Placed hooks on the bottom for keys landyards ect. I hope to soon place cubbies on the floor for shoes and fruit half baskets on the wall for sunglesses ect.

Nice way to show off the family and have a place for shoes and keys and such if you dont have a mud room :)

Whats for Dinner?

Easiest and cheapest craft!

Take back and picture out of a picture frame of your choice. Place fabric on Glass with two sides tape, reattach back and write on it with a Dry Erase. I wrote whats for dinner on mine and change it daily so everyone knows whats for dinner. Ive seen some people write a good saying for the day or something they like about someone else :) have fun!

Repurposing China Hutch

Ikea Hutch turned Craft Corner

I have a beatiful simple white china hutch from Ikea that I turned into my craft table. I pulled off the back and the knobs, painted them blue and reattchèd. I filled it with all my crafting supplies, all in boxes of course :). Now im all set to be a crazy craft lady!

Chicken Chilli Cheese Crap

I love using my crockpot, and this is the best recipie for chicken!

2 cans rotel
2 black beans drained and rinsed
2 cans corn
ranch dressing packet
chilli powder
6 chicken breasts

2 8 oz cream cheese

Cute Cups :)

Cute Cups :)

I went to the dollar store and got five plain white mugs. I wanted to decorate them, one for everyone in my house, but whenever I did, the marker came off when i washed them. So I did a little digging and I found tht if you throw them in the oven for 30 mins at 350 the ink will set. The black stayed pretty well but the colors didnt. So I raised the heat to 450 and left them in for another 30 minutes. I turned off the stove and let them cool inside without opening the door. Perfect! Best DIY ever :) my family loved them!

About ME

About ME:

My name is Lauren, 20 years old, living with my amazing boyfriend, a gay roommate, and my kid sister and her baby. I'm starting this blog because I used to live alone, on mozzarella, pre-made salad, and bottled water. Enter Alex, aka Gay Roommate, 23, a chef and coworker i let move onto my couch. He started cooking dinners and became my permanent roommate, and bestie. We moved, acquired my little sister, 18, pregnant with a baby girly, or chubby bunny as she was called, and later my boyfriend, Daniel, 20. I always loved the Bree Van De Kamps and Martha Stewart of the world, and now I had the opportunity to be one of them. So This is my blog, all my adventures in the Kitchen, and in Life. Enjoy!
